Flame retardation of SBR latex adhesives

Conventionally, antimony trioxide and halogenated flame retardants have been used to make SBR latex adhesives flame retardant.
It is believed that SOUFA (boric acid flame retardant) and metal hydroxide can be used as a substitute for them. In our in-house tests, we have confirmed that a 38 mm flame of FMVSS (JIS D1201) automotive interior materials can extinguish itself at a combustion rate of 15 seconds → 254 mm.
